The Book of Wisdom, or the Wisdom of Solomon, is a Jewish work written in Greek and most likely composed in Alexandria, lly dated to the mid first century BC, the central theme of the work is "Wisdom" itself, appearing under two principal aspects.

In its relation to man, Wisdom is the perfection of knowledge of the righteous as a gift from God showing itself in action.

Solomon does a masterful job creating multidimensional characters who dare to do and say the wrong thing, to risk unforgivable acts and cruel words, to push each other, and the result is two of the most fascinating characters I can remember reading in recent history/5().

Book came in a massive package with no plastic cover or protection of any kind. Definitely brand new but looks used since Im Solomon. book corners are a bit worn. At least the package could have been the right size to limit any possible wear but it was oversized.

Whatever, im just stoked on reading it /5(). Rachel Lynn Solomon is the author of You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone, Our Year of Maybe, and Today Tonight Tomorrow. She is a Seattle native who loves rainy days, her tiny dog, tap dancing, old movies, red lipstick, and books with flawed, complicated characters.

Verse 5. - I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. The word "black" (שְׁחורָה) does not necessarily mean that the skin is black, but rather sunburnt, dark brown, as in Lamentationswhere the same word signifies the livid or swarthy appearance of one who has suffered long from famine and wretchedness.

Actually the best book about the life of Solomon is the one that bears his name, the Song of Solomon. Contrary to common belief, this book tells of his Achilles heel which was the continual desire to romance foreign women, neglecting the the study.
